HCI Issues-Task Analysis

Human Computer Interaction
Comp 325
Assignment 13-1

In the course Human Computer Interaction “Module 4” brought many relevant HCI issues regarding task analysis. A task may seem simple until it is completed and you may realize you have done it wrong. In web design this might not be apparent until you hit the submit button. This is where task analysis can help organize steps of a task that must be apparent before they can be completed. Module 4 states the process of task analysis as:

· Identifying the tasks
· Describing the tasks ·Identifying the task scenarios
From module 4 task analysis is described as collecting data, evaluating usability and research using usability methods and tools to display and guide through a task process. Graphic representations of the proposed user interface can be simple or very detailed as long as it meets the goal of formulating an action that can be executed and completed for evaluation. This starts with the visual representation of the user interface or task with a conceptual plan that the user can use to complete the task in whole and correctly.

Some recommended prototyping tools for graphic display and representation of user interface:

· Photoshop
· Macromedia Director · Microsoft FrontPage · Microsoft Visual Basic.
